Aviation survival gear designed and produced in Canada since 2004!

Crashkit Basic

Crashkit Basic was developed for all the pilots out there who will never need or use the kit, but still feel obligated to meet those pesky Transport Canada rules and regulations. With two models to choose from, there is a kit to meet both Survival/First Aid Type A (1-6), and Survival/First Aid Type B (6+) depending on your application. While each kit slightly exceeds all GA and commercial flight regulations, contents, weight and size have all been kept to an absolute minimum.

Over the course of many years and dozens of trade shows, we have spoke with thousands of pilots about survival. Of all the pilots we have talked to, they generally fit into two distinct categories: “Wow, that’s some cheap life insurance, I’ll take it!” and “I don’t need it, it will never happen to me.”

Our regular Crashkit line deals with the first group of people. Crashkit Basic deals with the second.

Weighing in at only 1.42kg and 2.63kg respectively, the TCA and TCB kits are also ideally suited for smaller, light weight aerobatic style aircraft or aircraft in the Advanced Ultra-Light (AUL) category. Smaller home built aircraft would also benefit from the reduced size and weight as would gyrocopters and other rotary aircraft .

As Crashkits, the TCA and TCB are still constructed using the same design principles as our premier line, and as such they too are also virtually indestructible. Please note the contents of these kits are packaged very tightly and re-closure of the kit once opened may prove difficult or impossible. As the contents of these kits have been reduced to meet TC standards, both the Crashkit TCA and TCB are designed for, and should only be purchased by, individuals with previous knowledge of first aid and wilderness survival techniques.
